Contacts
A "Contact" in CXF refers to an object in the “People” module that represents an individual interacting with an implementation of the CXF platform.
Contacts can be classified into three main categories:
- Ghost: A "Ghost" is a contact who has visited the implementation's website but has not provided their contact information, such as an email address or phone number. Ghosts are identified by a cookie, and all their website activity is tracked in relation to that cookie.
Example of a Ghost: An anonymous visitor browsing a platform's event website, viewing information about an upcoming event without registering or providing contact information. - Lead: A "Lead" is a contact who has provided their contact information, such as an email address or phone number, but this information has not yet been verified. Leads represent an intermediate stage in the conversion process from Ghost to Contact.
Example of a Lead: A user who completes a registration form for an event on an event platform, providing their email address but has not yet verified their email address. - Contact: A "Contact" is a complete and verified record in the CXF platform. These contacts have provided verifiable contact information and have completed the conversion process. Contacts represent the final stage of the process and can be managed and segmented to personalize interactions and experiences.
Example of a Contact: A registered attendee for an event on an event platform who has provided and verified their email address and phone number. This contact can receive updates and communications related to the event.
