DAM

The Digital Asset Manager, often referred to as DAM, is a critical component within CXF that facilitates the management of digital assets, specifically represented by the "Assets" object type. In CXF, an asset can take the form of an image, video, or file. These assets can be organized and stored within folders for efficient management.

Key features and functionalities of the DAM in CXF include:

  • Asset Storage: Assets, including images, videos, and files, can be uploaded and stored directly in the DAM. They can be added to the DAM from a URL or computer files, making them readily available for use across the CXF platform.
  • Public URLs: Assets stored in the DAM are assigned public URLs, allowing them to be accessed and utilized from within the implementation. This enables the seamless integration of assets into various parts of CXF, such as attributes of image and file types.
  • Content Integration: Assets can be inserted into various contexts within CXF, including image and file attributes, the body of Stories, or full-formatted text attributes. This versatility enhances the visual and multimedia aspects of content creation.
  • Folder Organization: The DAM supports a structured organization of assets using folders. This makes it easier to categorize and locate specific assets, streamlining the asset management process.
  • Navigation and Search: Users can navigate through folders, perform searches, view assets in list or thumbnail views, and apply sorting options. These capabilities ensure efficient asset retrieval and management.

The DAM serves as a central repository for digital assets, simplifying their management, accessibility, and integration into the CXF platform. It plays a crucial role in enhancing the visual and multimedia components of content creation and delivery.
